Sociology Research

 

Laura Wain is a PhD student in the Department of Sociology funded by the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC). Her research addresses the question of how studying the participation of US foreign volunteer soldiers in Ukraine (2022) contributes to our understanding of US imperialism.

Laura holds an MPhil in Sociology of Marginality and Exclusion from the University of Cambridge (2021) and an MA in Geography from the University of St Andrews (2019).
