Sociology Research

 

Canhui Liu is a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Sociology, where he is supervised by Professor Patrick Baert.

With the interdisciplinary training in Sociology and Public Policy, his research seeks to make a contribution to understanding the social roots and mechanisms of technicism in contemporary China, especially the role of cybernetics in a series of social-economic policy makings.

His research interests include Sociology of Intellectuals and Social Network Analysis. Prior to moving to Cambridge, he studied Sociology at Sun Yat-sen University and Public Policy at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
