Sociology Research

 

PeiChieh Hsu is a PhD student in Sociology at the University of Cambridge.

Her research interests focus on gender relations and everyday practices that interact with macro-social structures. Her PhD research looks at assisted reproductive technologies and reproductive decision-making in Japan.

Before coming to Cambridge, PeiChieh worked as a country expert for an ERC starting grant project "DomEQUAL: A Global Approach to Paid Domestic Work and Global Inequalities" which explores the impact of globalization on the construction of social inequality by examining the conditions of paid domestic workers across countries. She also had six-year experience as an advocate of women's and LGBTQ rights in Taiwan.

PeiChieh holds a master's degree in Sociology and a BA in Humanities and Social Sciences from National Tsing Hua University, Taiwan.
