Sociology Research

Professor Mónica Moreno Figueroa and Professor Manali Desai are leading an exciting interdisciplinary project for Cambridge researchers to explore and incorporate intersectional and anti-racist perspectives into their academic work. Through a series of collaborative workshops, conferences and a Festival of Antiracism, participants will discuss various aspects of the research process, including project conception, methodology, team building, impact planning, writing-up, dissemination, and publication. The discussions will be recorded, transcribed, and published to create a collective resource supporting the development of a consistent and rigorous approach to integrating 'race' perspectives within research across the Humanities and Social Sciences at Cambridge. The Thinking Us project is also feeding into the scoping and design phases for the creation of a new research institute on global racisms and social transformation at the University of Cambridge.
