Sociology Research

 

Olga Zeveleva defended her Phd thesis, titled "The State and the Journalist: Regional Crimean Media Professionals Adapting to Change, 2013-2017", in March 2019 at the Department of Sociology, University of Cambridge. Her current research project on the sociology of journalistic autonomy is funded by the Oxford Russia Fellowship. She is working on her book project on media crackdown in contemporary societies, and has published several papers emerging from her work on the sociology of media and journalism, as well as articles based on her previous research on mobility and migration.

Research Interests

Olga currently works on mobility, migration, media, and political transformation. Her PhD dissertation is titled ‘The state and the journalist: Regional Crimean media professionals adapting to change, 2013-2017’.
