Professor Patrick Baert was the principal investigator of this research project. The research project was funded by a British Academy Small Research Grant from 2011 to 2013 and a Leverhulme Fellowship from 2012 to 2013. The aim of this project was to provide a sociological explanation to the rise of French existentialism between 1944 and 1947.
